Solomon Staggie — Founder (2016–2026)
Solomon founded Voice of the Voiceless in 2016 after his release from prison, driven by a passion to share Christ, and give hope and opportunity to communities he once knew all too well. Though he passed away in March 2026, his vision continues to guide everything VOV does today.

Jason Staggie
- Chairperson
Jason is an author, educator and filmmaker. He is a Psychology graduate from the University of Cape Town and a Directing/Screenwriting graduate from Prague Film School.
He has taught in four countries and views it as his duty to inspire and uplift others through his works and various missions.
He currently lectures, whilst writing fiction and developing his film projects. He is also pursuing his post-grad qualifications in Theory of Literature.
Cheryl Staggie - Academic Co-ordinator
Cheryl has worked as an educator for over forty years - teaching in various townships.
A respected pillar of every community she has taught in, she brings experience, empathy and excellence to Voice of the Voiceless
Natheem Capaima - Program Manager
/Head Tutor
Natheem Capaima is the Program Manager at the Voice of the Voiceless tutoring centre in Hanover Park. A born-again Christian, he believes that God can do the impossible, and he brings that same conviction into his work with the community.
He is passionate about Maths, poetry, reading, and chess, and he loves inspiring others to do their best and give their all in everything they pursue. He currently teaches at a high school in the area and loves what he does.
It is an honour and a privilege for Natheem to be part of Voice of the Voiceless.
Nadine Staggie - Legal and Finance
Nadine has been with Voice of the Voiceless since its inception, bringing steady dedication and commitment to the organization from the very beginning. A law graduate, she is deeply passionate about human and women's rights, a passion that shapes the way she approaches her work and advocates for the communities VOV serves.
She oversees VOV's legal and financial affairs, ensuring the organization remains compliant, transparent, and firmly rooted in its mission. Her legal expertise and dedication have been instrumental in building a solid foundation for VOV to grow and continue its work with integrity and accountability.
Chad Solomons - Tutor
Chad Solomons is 22 years old, born and raised in Seawinds, a small suburb in Cape Town. Raised by both his parents, he grew up surrounded by love, discipline, and formative moments that shaped who he is today. He received a strong schooling foundation and is currently in his final year at university.
Chad is passionate about hiking and swimming, and Mathematics remains a lasting interest he hopes to grow well beyond high school level. Above all, he loves being surrounded by people who share his love for Jesus Christ, whether through Bible studies, music practice, or afternoon gatherings sharing His love with others, including children.
As he continues on his journey, Chad hopes and prays to hold onto that peace and share it wherever life takes him.
Tamarah Solomons- Tutor
Tamarah Solomons lives in Hanover Park and is currently a full-time student at the University of Cape Town. She enjoys volunteering at Voice of the Voiceless because it allows her to encourage and support learners, helping them see beyond the challenges they may face and reach their full potential.
One of her core values is always spreading kindness and showing up for others. A fun fact about Tamarah: she's always chasing new adventures.
Maryna Johnson - Clinical Psychologist
Maryna is a clinical psychologist practicing out of her office in Bellville. She specialises in a range of therapies, including behavioural and emotional problems, self-esteem, assessment (including ADD and ADHD), parental guidance, and adolescent issues.
Maryna generously attends every session at Voice of the Voiceless, offering her expertise and support to help our students navigate challenges and thrive both emotionally and academically.

Beyond the team featured here, VOV is supported by volunteers who tutor, mentor, and encourage our students in our programme, alongside partners and donors who make our work possible. Every hand that helps, however big or small, is part of the VOV family.
